Here's my go-to line about the public electric vehicle charging infrastructure: it's much, much better than it's ever been. But it still has many miles to go. The truth is that the U.S. alone added thousands of chargers last year, basically doubling them since 2020. But they're not everywhere yet. And EV drivers still deal with annoying payment, compatibility and reliability problems.
