2025 Yamaha Sidewinder S-TX GT EPS

The 2025 Sidewinder S-TX GT EPS is a favorite of our North American Snowmobile Team. Nicknamed the "super-couch," the S-TX will get you there, quickly, smoothly and in style. With all the amenities, like Fox QS3 adjustable shocks, 4.1-gallon auxiliary fuel tank and Yamaha's industry first Electric Power Steering, this sled is what you go for when you want to log miles all weekend and feel nothing on Monday.

Comfort
- The medium smoked polycarbonate windshield was designed to shield the high-mileage rider from the coldest days. The windshield incorporates a small lip at the top to deflect wind and snow up and over the rider at speed, while flared edges provide added protection and warmth for your hands. The GT windshield was also designed to accommodate optional mirrors. The windshield is thicker than standard windshields to reduce mirror vibration at speed and features pre-marked indents for an easy installation of the accessory mirrors.

- The handlebar controls feature a left-hand switch cluster which allows for 'on-the-fly' access to the multi-step hand and thumb warmer adjusters.

- Both driver and passenger stay toasty warm with independently controlled hand warmers. The passenger also gets functional wind deflectors added to the padded rear grab bars to help keep the elements away from their hands. - Both driver and passenger are provided convenient RCA DC outlets for heated helmet visors plus a socket type outlet located in the console to power-up other 12V accessories.

Handling
- The effect of four-stroke engine braking when the throttle valves are closed has a significant impact on handling and ride character. Yamaha developed a special system which employs the Idle Speed Control (ISC) Circuit and ECU map using throttle valve movement and RPM information to reduce negative intake pressure during deceleration.

- Regarded as the best high-performance terrain track available, the 146-inch x 1.25-inch lug design of the RipSaw I delivers incredible acceleration, braking control, and handling in a wide variety of conditions.

- The Sidewinder S-TX GT sports front Fox QS3 adjustable shocks up front and aluminum body High Pressure Gas (HPG) shocks in the rear, offering fade free performance to handle all the challenges the trail can dish out.

- The Yamaha designed single keel ski strikes the elusive balance between lightweight steering effort and precision handling over a wide range of snow conditions. Special staggered carbides further enhance steering response. A unique EPS shim pad assembly works in conjunction with the rubber saddle block to adjust the carbide pressure point. Overall ski stance is also adjustable by relocating the thick spacer located on each ski axle to the opposite side.

Performance
- Yamaha engineers wanted an engine that's exceptionally quick to respond with little or no 'lag' as found in a conventional turbo. One of the ways they achieved their goal was to develop an intake system using three separate throttle bodies positioned very close to the intake valves, instead of just one feeding long intake tubes. It’s an innovation not seen in any other production turbo on the planet, and another first for Yamaha with the Genesis turbo.

- The nickel alloy turbine body is extremely strong and precise, able to withstand highly elevated temperatures. Supported by premium, ceramic ball bearings the Inconel turbine blade assembly is very light and strong. This yields a low moment of inertia for lightning quick response to exhaust gas input. Triple throttle bodies are used exclusively to further enhance the quick delivery of compressed air from the impeller to intake valves.

- The Yamaha-developed Mitsubishi ECU uses a series of nine sensors to gather running condition data which it computes using a predetermined memory ‘map’. It then adjusts ignition timing, fuel delivery, manifold air pressure and turbo boost pressure to produce maximum performance under any condition—reliably.

- The YSRC primary and roller secondary clutches are calibrated for durable, cool operation. They harness and transfer the massive torque produced by the Genesis Turbo efficiently to the track while minimizing drive belt wear. The primary shifts out aggressively to use all the power on tap while the roller secondary is quick to back-shift and provides additional ratio through its oversize sheaves to keep accelerating long after the others have signed off.

- The SRV chassis combines a load-bearing triangulated structure with lightweight aluminum construction to create a neutrally balanced sled that's centered on the rider. The pyramidal upper frame creates chassis strength without excessive weight.

Top Features
- FINAL EDITION BADGING: A badge represents all 20,476 days Yamaha has been in the snowmobile business. It is to spark conversation and debate about the best sled over the years, the coolest innovation, the longest ride. It’s more than a badge, it’s our entire history put into your 2025 snowmobile.

-REAR HARD CASE WITH AUXILIARY FUEL TANK: You won't be caught short on a long ride with the convenient, moisture-proof hard storage case and 4.1-gallon auxiliary fuel tank. Total fuel capacity is bumped up to 13 gallons, which goes a long way on the trail—and for your peace of mind.

- PREMIUM FOX ZERO QS3 FRONT SHOCKS: The Sidewinder S-TX GT sports Fox QS3 adjustable shocks up front and aluminum body High Pressure Gas (HPG) shocks in the rear, offering fade-free performance to handle all the challenges the trail can dish out.

-The dual-shock SR 146 offers a long profile version of our acclaimed trail comfort suspension. This lightweight suspension offers premium bump compliance with excellent resistance to bottoming. The dual-load 146 is a 'coupled' skid frame that utilizes a unique sliding front arm mount with half an inch of movement at the front arm slot. This active arm design delivers controlled (reduced) ski-lift during acceleration while retaining a good measure of independent front arm tracking. The addition of passenger 'overload' springs help compensate for the extra weight of a passenger to reduce bottoming and maintain balance.

- A plush two-up heated seat provides the ultimate in warmth and comfort on even the coldest winter days. A simple flip of the dash-mounted switch allows you to choose from two settings of warmth and your passenger has their own controls. The passenger also gets a fully adjustable backrest.

- The SRV front suspension geometry is aimed at managing spindle camber resulting in minimized bump-steer and maximized cornering bite, giving rider confidence in varying trail conditions. The A-arms are mounted at a 30-degree angle from the sled's centerline to efficiently dissipate impact force throughout the entire chassis. Likewise, the front shocks mount directly to the leading spar so that trail forces are routed to the strongest part of the chassis. Wide a-arm spacing minimizes flex and stress in the front suspension system, which means consistent and confident corner handling.

-You won't be caught short on a long ride with the convenient, moisture-proof hard storage case and 4.1-gallon auxiliary fuel tank. Total fuel capacity is bumped up to 13 gallons, which goes a long way on the trail—and for your peace of mind.

- The turbo-boosted, one-liter triple engine is unmatched when it comes to delivering incredible power with the refinement and quality you have come to expect from a Yamaha. Designed around a premium turbo unit, every engine component from intake to exhaust is dedicated to producing uncompromised performance. The Yamaha turbo has earned the respect and reputation befitting the industry's highest achiever. Truly this is the potent venom of a Sidewinder's bite.

To bad there’s no more Cat and Yamaha. Cat and Yamaha had the best looking sleds on the market. However they should have found a way to keep the prices down.

To the Yamaha community it’s been great to join you right at the end when I rode a Yamaha snowmobile for a year while someone else stopped riding for a year that’s for still being able to fix our snowmobiles please stick with us and to keep making our summer fun.

I wish there was a way to do 1UP with the Backrest, as someone with disabilities it would be slick...Is there any way to at least move the Passenger backrest forward to sit behind the driver? (My late 90's Polaris has this feature, but the older I get, the more I would appreciate EPS and 4-stroke.) - This is a very NICE unit.
