The durable design and beloved performance of the WRX is based on generations of U.S. national rally championship race cars. Nothing delivers the unique thrills of its raw power, track-tuned suspension, and standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive — a feature the Honda Civic Si, Volkswagen Golf GTI, and Hyundai Elantra N don’t even offer.
Subaru Performance Engineering
With its standard 2.4-liter direct-injection turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® engine, the four-door 2025 WRX AWD sports car delivers 271 horsepower. That’s more than the Honda Civic Si or Volkswagen Golf GTI1. There’s also a standard track-tuned suspension for precise control. The new 2025 WRX tS features electronically adjustable dampers tuned by Subaru Tecnica International to deliver even more responsive handling so you can take command of every corner.

- The tS is the most refined and balanced wrx ever made. It makes sense why you don't need the STI... its truly already better than one. Everything an STI does with reliability (why its tuned down so much), longevity, and refinement (makes a great daily).
- This is the one to get for tunning - those shocks are the must have feature of this car along with 6speed. Brakes are already solid too. 2.4l also should be easy to tune.
- The black wheel claddings and the unpainted rear bumper are horrible! But I still bought one (a 23’ base model) and it is a lot of fun to drive. 6 spd manual, AWD, 271hp with lots of tuning potential, is a great deal at $30k. But I would not pay $46k for this one!
- I've got a 147,000 mile 2010 STI hatch in my driveway. Nothing Subaru has made in the intervening years has made me want to trade away from it. After 2014 they stopped the hatch, the STI stagnated with the same EJ engine while the WRX "improvements" included middling power and hideous black wheel arch plastic cladding. I get that this is where the market went but one can still lament the loss of what once was...
- These have become too expensive. I bought my fully loaded 2015 WRX CVT for about 37k. It had everything you could option. This was the most expensive note STi you could get. And the STi was like barely over 40k if I remember correctly. An entry level WRX in 2015 model year guise was about 27k starting I think. And they still haven't increased power output by any meaningful amount. The power is lower in the rev band but that's not a major change.
- Lol boy... some of these comments... People you do understand that there is alot more to a vehicle than horsepower and how fast fast fast it is. Someone ALWAYS has something more powerful then what you have! Remember that! Besides the autobahn you can't even do 90mph without getting pulled over... WRX is still a great vehicle. Overpriced like all the other vehicles out there.. But it's still Turbo and AWD fun to drive vehicle. So please stop with hp crying 😭😏
- I don't understand this generation of WRX. It's like a weird half measure. I don't know why any enthusiast would buy this (they're hitting $50,000 at dealerships... that's pure lunacy) and for the guy or girl that just wants a daily commuter that's comfortable, affordable and not stupid looking -- just get a Mazda. They're just more mature looking Subarus with better engines, transmissions and interiors -- for less money.
