Hyundai launched the facelift of the i20 at the Auto Expo 2018. Prices of the car start from Rs 6.50 lakh for the base petrol trim and go up till Rs 8.31 lakh for the top end variant, while the diesel variant is priced at Rs. 7.67 lakh. The company has already updated the rest of its products and it was the i20, i20 Active and the Creta that were remaining. The i20 has finally got the facelift and though a neat job, it's not as extensive as we thought they would be. However, the change in the face is quite evident.
Engine set up includes a 1.2 litre, Kappa dual VTVT four cylinder engine featuring four valves for each cylinder. The petrol engine develops 82bhp of max power at 6000rpm along with 11.7 kgm of torque at 4000rpm. Diesel variants plonk a 1.4 litre, U2 CRDi, DOHC, four cylinder engine producing 89bhp at 4000rpm along with 22.4 kgm torque between 1500rpm to 2750rpm. A five-speed manual gearbox is mated to the petrol engine and diesel variants come paired to a six-speed manual transmission. The Hyundai i20 rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Volkswagen Polo.
