GMC is unveiling the first ever 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X, pushing the envelope in advanced off-road performance, serious capability and uncompromising refinements.

GMC trucks are built for adventure — but with the first ever Canyon AT4X (arriving Spring 2023), GMC is redefining off-roading for mid-size trucks. With a bold new exterior look, all-new interior and a host of extreme off-roading hardware and innovative tech — the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X is the most advanced and off-road capable Canyon ever.

BUILT TO BLAZE NEW TRAILS

The GMC Canyon AT4X is equipped for the adversities of the trail. Under the hood, the Canyon AT4X has a 2.7L Turbo High-Output Engine with 310 horsepower, a best-in-class 430 lb.-ft. of torque† and a towing capacity of 5,500. This high-torque engine is optimized for off-roading on uneven terrains and has higher horsepower and torque than the outgoing 3.6L V6 engine.

A first ever on Canyon, the Multimatic™ DSSV dampers powering AT4X feature dynamic spool valves for extended off-road applications. Multimatic™ DSSV spool-valve dampers feature three separate spool valves to control damping and three connected chambers for fluid flow. Every Canyon AT4X includes a unique valve specifically designed for off-roading applications. It is activated when wheel travel moves outside the “normal road” operating motion range, providing extra dampening during extended wheel travel and high-impact compression events.

For any hard-core off-roading adventure, protecting the underbody of your truck is essential. The Canyon AT4X is equipped with large front heavy-duty skid plating, a larger transfer case shield and rocker protectors.

The New 2023 Canyon comes standard with an off-road chassis package that includes a 2" factory-installed lift and 3.5" widened track. That gives Canyon a standard ground clearance of 9.6" and a 33.3-degree approach angle.

The Canyon AT4X has received several bolstered off-road metrics, including an additional 1" of factory-installed lift for a total lift of 3 inches, resulting in 10.7". The Canyon AT4X also has a widened track of 66.3 inches, 36.9-degree approach angle (Edition 1 approach angle 32.8 degrees), 25.0-degree departure angle and 24.5-degree breakover angle.

HIGH-TECH COCKPIT

The Canyon AT4X has also received several high-tech innovations inside the vehicle that expands the Canyon AT4X’s off-roading capabilities. For starters, the Canyon offers more camera views than any competitor in its class with up to 10 available camera views† including Surround Vision and Front/Rear Underbody cameras.

These camera views are engineered to provide an ultimate off-road experience. The all-new front and rear underbody camera feature an integrated washing function and are waterproof for driving in mud or water. The front and rear camera can be viewed with HD Surround Vision for a view of your surroundings, underneath and around your truck when driving on rocks or gravel.

The Canyon has also received a new class-leading 6.3" diagonal head-up display, a standard 11.3" diagonal infotainment center touchscreen equipped with compatibility for Apple Carplay®†, Android Auto† and available Google built-in† compatibility and an available 11" diagonal fully-digital multi-color driver instrument center— the Canyon’s first fully-digital driver information center. Together, these displays enhance the driver’s experience when adventuring off the beaten path.

Preproduction models shown throughout. Actual production models may vary. Canyon initial availability early 2023. AT4X model available spring 2023. AT4X Edition 1 Package shown is extremely limited availability.

The Safari Bar and Front Grille Light Bar may block the front-view camera or limit the camera’s field of view, which will inhibit the HD Surround Vision system. Always check around the vehicle before driving or parking.
