GM offloading ownership in 1 of 4 battery plants as EV demand lags

General Motors has decided it no longer needs 4 U.S. battery plants to meet demand for electric vehicles and will sell its stake in its Lansing, Mich., facility to joint-venture partner LG Energy Solution.
