The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is the Italian brand’s new flagship supercar and picks up right where the 8C Competizione left off almost 15 years ago.
The 8C Competizione can be had for under $400,000.
This thing is almost 10x the price.
Not really a replacement.
The 8CC was a Supercar made in decent numbers. 1,000 in total. 500 Coupes and 500 Spyders.
The 33S is a Halo Car, with an extremely limited run of only 33.
At this point I feel like it is fair to start the countdown clock on brands that won’t survive the next 10 years. Like half of the land of misfit toys (Stellantis) is probably on the block, Nissan, Rivian, etc. Unless the EU, Brazil, and N.A. all say no to Chinese EVs, we are all going to be in for a world of playing “wait, what kind of car is that?” on our 2030 roadtrips.
The most beautiful Italian cars are Alfa Romeos, you can't help but fall in love with an Alfa Romeo at least once in your life ❤️. Thank you Alfa Romeo proud of you

-The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, first shown last year, is undergoing testing at the Nardò Ring in Italy.
-Alfa Romeo says the supercar was able to hit 207 mph and rip from zero to 62 mph in under 3.0 seconds.
-Only 33 examples are being built, and the first one will be delivered in Italy in late December.
Alfa Romeo revealed a limited-production halo car called the 33 Stradale over a year ago. Since then, we have heard little about the slinky coupe that pays homage to one of the greatest Alfa Romeo sports cars, which shared the same name during a short production run in the late 1960s. Now Alfa Romeo has released details of the 33 Stradale's testing program as it gets ready to deliver the first of just 33 examples in Italy in late Decembe
Alfa Romeo says it has just completed a test session of a prototype 33 Stradale at the Nardò Technical Center in Salento, Italy. The 1730-acre site contains 20 different test tracks, most notably the 7.8-mile Nardò Ring, a famous spot for high-speed testing. You may recognize the name from the Volkswagen W12 Nardò concept from 2001, which broke an array of world speed records at the track in the early 2000s. During the 33 Stradale's test, the Italian automaker says it "monitored and validated dynamic parameters such as aerodynamics, top speed, maximum temperatures, propulsive cooling systems, and cabin soundproofing." The session confirmed the supercar's 207-mph top speed and ability to zip from zero to 62 mph in less than 3.0 seconds.
The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 borrowed from the Maserati MC20. The engine sends over 620 horsepower through an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox to the rear wheels through an electronic limited-slip differential.
When the 33 Stradale was revealed, Alfa Romeo also said it would offer the beautiful coupe with an electric powertrain, which was expected to be shared with the Maserati MC20 Folgore, first announced in 2020. Earlier this year, Maserati confirmed that the electric version of the MC20 will arrive in 2025, but little is known about the powertrain.
Maserati had originally claimed an output of 700 hp from three electric motors, while Alfa Romeo claimed last year that the electric 33 Stradale will produce 750 hp. There was no mention of an electric powertrain in Alfa Romeo's press release regarding testing. Car and Driver has reached out to Alfa Romeo to confirm whether an electric setup will still be offered in the 33 Stradale.

At the end of the test session, Valtteri Bottas said:
“The opportunity to test the 33 Stradale was a very special moment. I hope my feedback can be useful to the experienced Alfa Romeo development team for the final tuning. Configuring my personal car with the “bottega Alfa Romeo” was engaging and exciting, and testing it today was really exciting. All I have to do is wait for my 33 Stradale to be ready! I am extremely satisfied with the testing. Today's experience is close to perfection, which for me means total symbiosis with the car. The car immediately puts you at ease: extremely responsive, precise. The feeling with the car is immediate, extremely easy and fun to understand, and you certainly don't need to be an F1 driver to experience it. In addition, its sound envelops the passenger compartment and is unmistakably Alfa Romeo."
