They used to be called “Tesla killers”, but none of them ever did and Tesla is still king. Now they call them “Tesla hunters”! Ha! None of them ever live up to the hype. Tesla is just better. Consumers know.
Good luck finding enough charging stations. EVs don’t have enough range to travel very far, and the charging infrastructure simply isn’t there yet. This is a perfect example of why ICE vehicles aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. It this situation, I think a hybrid is the answer.
The ID. buzz has a starting price of $60k before any conversion has even been done. VW just announced its plans to abandon the EV market in certain areas and potentially lay off hundreds to thousands of people because of a lack of customer interest. It will be interesting to see who is lining up to buy this vehicle.
Dumbest thing in the world to buy; And I own a Tesla Cybertruck. But to have a van that is supposed to be traveling all over the place, and it's an EV? Nope. It should, in the very least, be a hybrid. Or here's an idea; Let's just make it so it'll get 100 miles to the gallon. Because I know for a fact you can make an engine get 200mpg, if you wanted to. Think of this...think of how much we've all been getting scammed w/the following knowledge; Back in 1921 there was a car that got 200 miles to the gallon. Granted, it was small and light and would only go around 25 mph, but still...With decades more technology you know for a fact we could all be driving around cards that probably get 300mpg...or more!

Volkswagen of America, Inc. has recently showcased the ID.Family, a growing fleet of electric vehicles for North America at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The ID.Buzz, ID.7, and ID.4 debuted together for the first time, and enthusiasts saw the all-electric trio in person at the Los Angeles Convention Center from November 17-26, 2023.

Earlier in 2023, Volkswagen unveiled ID.Buzz in Huntington Beach, California. The all-electric Microbus pays homage to the German automaker’s iconic Microbus with its retro design, advanced EV technology, and driver-assistance features—the ID.Buzz has a 91-kWh skateboard-style battery mounted under the floor, offering 282 horsepower on the rear-wheel-drive model and approximately 330 horsepower for the all-wheel-drive model. The exterior of the electric Microbus retains the classic boxy shape with retro cues and bold colors—the ID.Buzz’s interior is spacious and tailored, offered in three color and trim choices uniquely curated for North America. The all-electric VW Microbus boasts an available electrochromic panoramic sunroof, multicolor ambient lighting, and comfortable seating for all three rows with many adjustments and heating and ventilation options. The ID.Buzz incorporates modern technology, including a fully connected infotainment experience with wireless device connectivity and multiple charging ports. The German automaker plans to make the ID.Buzz available by Fall 2024.
The Volkswagen Electric Sedan
The ID.7 is Volkswagen’s first all-electric sedan in the upper midsize segment. The ID.7 will launch in the second half of 2024 and boasts excellent aerodynamics and a highly effective drivetrain that enables long ranges. The ID.7 Pro, equipped with an 82 kWh battery, has a manufacturer-estimated potential range of up to 386 miles (621 kilometers). The Pro model also has the most potent and highest-torque electric motor in any Volkswagen EV, delivering 282 horsepower and 402 lb-ft of torque. The electric VW sedan’s primary focus is exceptional travel comfort, offering a spacious interior and premium technology. Some available features include the DCC adaptive damping system, Climatronic seats with cooling, heating, and massage functions, Park Assist Plus with Memory, and an electrochromic panoramic sunroof. The ID.7 features natural voice commands for the glass roof and other options through the IDA voice assistant. Furthermore, the VW sedan also boasts a 700-watt Harman/Kardon sound system with 14 high-end loudspeakers for an impressive audio experience.
The All-Electric Volkswagen SUV
The Volkswagen ID.4 is an SUV presented in 2021 and has quickly become North America’s fifth best-selling electric vehicle. The 82 kWh model of the ID.4 will receive significant upgrades in 2024, including a more powerful performance drive unit, a new 12.9-inch infotainment display with backlit sliders, and a more user-friendly climate control interface and shifter. The Pro S model features ventilated front seats, while the Pro S Plus model features the new Harman/Kardon premium audio system and 21-inch wheels. The 2023 ID.4 models are eligible for the federal tax credit of up to $7,500. As Volkswagen has local assembly and sourcing, it is the only foreign automaker eligible for the entire federal tax credit. The German automaker plans to announce further details, specifications, and pricing for the ID.Buzz and ID.7 ahead of their respective launches in 2024.
