We knew 707 horsepower would never be enough for Dodge. The engineers and marketers in Auburn Hills are obsessive about big horsepower, not only dropping the Hellcat engine into a slew of other products but also continually updating the overpowered Challengers and Charger. It's no surprise, then, that the company boosted stock Charger Hellcat horsepower to 717 hp and added a 797-hp Charger Hellcat Redeye option. Now, we know how much it'll cost.
Much like the original Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye gets a significant price bump over the "standard" Hellcat. It starts at $80,080 with destination fees, which the press release notes equates to just over $100 per horsepower.
If you're comfortable with "only" 717 hp—still more than any other sedan out there—the standard 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat starts at $71,490. with destination. All models also come standard with the widebody modifications, meaning flared fenders and wider tires. As for the rest of the Charger lineup, here are the prices including the mandatory destination charge:
> Charger SXT: $31,490
> Charger SXT AWD: $35,090
> Charger GT: $33,490
> Charger GT AWD: $36,490
> Charger R/T: $38,490
> Charger Scat Pack: $42,590
> Charger Scat Pack Widebody: $48,090
Orders open in September, with the first deliveries slated for early 2021. Impatient buyers can probably get a better deal on a 2020 Hellcat, but you'd have to accept its paltry 707-hp output.
