Xpeng Motors has officially unveiled the all-new Xpeng P7 during its "THE NEXT All-New Xpeng P7 · China Debut" press event in Beijing, marking a significant advancement in China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) market. The company introduced three variants: a 702 km long-range version, an 820 km ultra-long-range version, and a 750 km high-performance version. Pre-orders are now open with a 99-yuan deposit that can be applied as a 3,000-yuan discount, alongside additional launch benefits.
New Design Language and Aerodynamic Efficiency
The latest iteration of the Xpeng P7 presents a minimalist, coupe-inspired design that emphasizes aerodynamics and performance. The vehicle’s structure integrates lighting, sensors, and partitions within a smooth surface design. Optimized proportions—featuring a width-to-height ratio of 1.40 and a drag coefficient as low as 0.201—highlight both form and function. The mid-mounted electric drive system, similar to that found in supercars, further reinforces its sporty stance.
The front of the P7 adopts the XMART FACE design, with a seamless flat logo, floating license plate holder, and matrix LED headlights. Exterior finishes include six color options, such as Crescent Silver and Rhythm Yellow, all using BASF Glasurit paint for a high-end appearance.
Full AI Integration with Proprietary Turing Chips
A key feature of the new Xpeng P7 is its integration of three proprietary Turing AI chips, delivering a combined 2250 TOPS of computing power. Two chips support the vehicle’s intelligent driving system (VLA), enabling proactive driving behavior, while the third chip—together with the 8295P processor—supports the intelligent cabin system (VLM), facilitating personalized in-vehicle interactions.
The P7 introduces a dynamic bionic cockpit, centered around a “Tech Island” dashboard that includes an 87-inch panoramic head-up display, gesture and voice-controlled screens, and a multi-functional sports steering wheel. This cockpit experience is designed to provide a more intuitive and human-like interaction between the driver and the vehicle.
The vehicle also features a four-zone voice recognition system, capable of distinguishing between occupants and understanding contextual commands. Security is enhanced through voiceprint recognition and encrypted access features.
Comfort and Practicality for Everyday Use
While performance and technology are core themes, the all-new P7 also addresses practical needs. NAPPA leather and Dinamica microfiber velvet front seats offer 16-way adjustments, heating, ventilation, massage functions, and built-in speakers. The driver’s seat includes an active side wing system with independent air control, adjusting dynamically to support both spirited and routine driving.
Rear-seat comfort has also been improved. The back row offers increased space and a relaxed seating posture, accommodating passengers up to 188 cm tall. A large hatchback tailgate, dual trunk layout, and 33 additional storage options result in a total of 631 liters of cargo capacity.
Additional amenities include 23 HiFi-grade speakers, intelligent fragrance dispensers, soft-close doors, and a softly lit vanity mirror. The P7's cabin is designed for quietness and insulation, with triple-layer glass, 68 sound-absorbing panels, and specialized tires for noise reduction.
High-Performance Architecture and Rapid Charging
The new P7 incorporates performance-focused engineering, including a low center of gravity (440mm) and a mass distribution where 81% of the weight lies between the axles. This enables 0–100 km/h acceleration in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 230 km/h. The suspension features a front double wishbone and rear five-link setup, enhanced by dual-chamber air suspension and intelligent damping systems, providing versatile handling.
The vehicle utilizes an 800V high-voltage platform and a 5C Supercharge AI battery. Fast-charging capabilities allow the vehicle to recover 525 km of range in 10 minutes, and 10%–80% charging in just over 11 minutes. All three variants offer long-distance driving capabilities without the need for frequent recharging stops.
Positioning and Market Strategy
As Xpeng Motors' second major release for 2025, the new P7 targets the mid-to-high-end segment of China’s NEV market, aiming to set new benchmarks for intelligent luxury sedans. The model aligns with the company’s vision of creating “dual flagships” that combine aesthetic design with advanced AI, reinforcing Xpeng’s strategic positioning in the competitive electric vehicle sector.
The vehicle’s unveiling, which featured celebrities and public figures, highlighted both the technological ambition and lifestyle appeal of the P7, supporting Xpeng’s broader branding goals and market expansion strategy.
