How do I use Remote Control Parking for my BMW?
Remote Control Parking for the BMW Parking Assistant allows you to park your BMW while standing next to the vehicle, using the My BMW App on your smartphone. To do so, a BMW Digital Key Plus needs to be active on your phone.

When driving at low speeds, the system will scan for parking spaces. Simply press the parking assistant button in the center console to enter parking view. Parking spaces are recognized once you have passed them completely. Select a parking maneuver on the parking display or remotely using the My BMW App. It suggests parking spaces and maneuvers; tap on the control display to select one and start the automatic parking assistant.

To complete parking using remote control parking, such as in the narrow parking spot, perform the following steps:

Push the brake pedal.
Engage the parking brake.
Select “Parking with My BMW App.”
Get out of the vehicle.
Open the My BMW App.
Click on “Remote Control Parking.”
Select your parking maneuver and the parking direction. To confirm that you want to use the remote control feature, tilt your phone forward and backward to position the slider into the target.
Press and hold the blue parking button.
Your BMW will begin maneuvering into the selected parking space, or with “Manual Mode,” you can remotely move the car - both forwards and backwards.
To stop the car, simply let go of the blue button; press and hold again to resume. The My BMW App tells you when the car has reached its final parking position. Tap finish, switch off the car, and lock it.

- While youve done all this ive already parked ahead of u walked in took a leak and getting back on the raod....were not ready for this nonsense. Half of yall would pay for anything nowdays thats not even practical. Modern cars r so gimmicky and non practical that theu shouldnt even be considered vehicles. Every new car ive tried out is junk. Rides and proves as junk in every way from comfort to speed they claim to turning to fake exhaust to poor planted headlights and blinkers just garbage

- If u cant park u need to stop driving. Modern cars r junk and the people who support this dangerous nonsense r nuts
- My garage has a 6.5” clearance on each side of my 7 series. So instead of using the parking assistant, I just slather the doors and garage entrance walls with Irish butter and the car slides in just fine!
- This is cool technology. But if you park in such a narrow spot that you can't get in and out of the car, then what do you think the guy parked next to you will do? This seems like a great way to either get keyed, dinged by their doors, or both.
- Whining while you don’t have this at hand is subjective. I like this feature and use it regularly - it comes in quite handy and it allows me to step out before it becomes a hassle. BMW is all about comfort.
- BMW, a driver's car and as the ultimate driving machine is meant to be driven and not for automated and self driving gimmicks. What else can beat when we used to alternate between half and full clutching whilst pressing the gas pedal during making a 3 point turn or parking your car. The sound from the engine revs alone makes you feel to be commanding a beast of a machine.

- With my driving experience, I will accurately park my car with the aid of side mirrors and reverse camera and park two other cars before this remote parking will complete it's cycle. Humans have become too lazy and wants almost everything done for them effortlessly and seamlessly. In my opinion, the more you park cars in tight situations, the sharper your driving skills become.
- When using the My BMW app for remote parking, is it right that communication with the BMW central server is not required and that the function operates through Bluetooth communication only between the iPhone's Digital Key Plus and the vehicle? Can I still use this feature even if the connection to the central server is not available due to reasons such as poor cellular reception in areas with weak signal?
- At this point BMW has surpassed Mercedes Benz in regards to technology. People, you are missing the point about this feature. If you’re in a tight parking spot this can park for you remotely without you dinging your vehicle. I understand what about the other vehicle that doesn’t have it and they just might hit your vehicle, but it’s option you want to have than not have; no gimmick folks just technology and real issues being addressed.
- The app is so cluncky, it hardly connects to BMW. I have I 7. It has bot wi fi and blue tooth connected still does not update charging etc. before you tout about all features, make a system “that connects well”
- after getting out of car it need 10 mints to open the app & park the car and operate this app system come on this is 2023 bmw team once the car parking space is found the owner should only get of the car & car should park itself. just my suggestion
