- In the past decade, Subaru has strayed further and further from what once made it special. From the discontinuation of the STI models to the reduction in turbocharged options like the XT, it feels like the brand has lost its identity. The continued reliance on CVTs and the absence of manual transmission options are clear signs of how Subaru is moving away from driving enthusiasts. As for the new Forester, in my humble opinion, it’s a complete miss in terms of design. The bold, rugged look that Subaru once prided itself on has been replaced with something much more generic, and it doesn’t evoke the same excitement it used to. It's disheartening to see a brand that once stood out as a performance-oriented alternative to mainstream vehicles now fading into mediocrity. The way things are going, I fear Subaru’s best days are behind them.
- I hope Subaru are putting more effort into fit’n’finish and a non-CVT transmission than pursuing a Hybrid collaboration?!! I’m absolutely for hybrid technology (drive a RAV4 Hybrid myself)… but Subaru, fix the existing issues first!!
- I think the only transmission available is a CVT. I don’t like them, a chain running on a couple of tapered metal spools… great! Just give me a standard 6 speed automatic transmission that I can pop into manual mode if I want to.
- Nice car, prefer the look of previous years. I think car manufactures regarding prices are looking around to see what others are charging for their vehicles and sales. Producing cheap cars for highest prices. You can tell from interiors from a lot of vehicles they're going absolutely cheapskate. VW GOLF GTI now selling over $70k. Yeah my jaw dropped! Yet to see them on the road, wouldn't want to buy one probably end up getting stolen within first month.
