Designed to command not conform, the LX exterior embodies all the luxury and urban sophistication you would expect from the Lexus flagship SUV. From every angle and every glance, the vehicle evokes strength and elegance.
The spindle grille, which expresses the function-rooted design language of Lexus, is three-dimensional and chrome-frame-free, accentuating its sense of unity with the body and expressing a sense of mass while fulfilling functions such as cooling and aerodynamic efficiency.
Interior Craftsmanship
The thrill of adventuring is enhanced by the interior of the LX with support from advanced instrumentation, luxurious appointments, and intelligent technologies. Based on the Tazuna Concept, which generates continuous dialogue between driver and vehicle, displays and driving system functions are concentrated around the steering wheel for superb driver focus. The instrument panel’s low positioning assists in keeping the driver’s line of sight free of unnecessary distraction, even on rough roads.
The VIP grade’s four independent seats can recline up to 48 degrees; between them is a dedicated rear-seat console providing the highest level of comfort on any road surface.
Technology
A new 12.3-inch (312-mm) full graphic meter resides behind the driver’s steering wheel to communicate the LX’s gauges such as the tachometer, speedometer and remaining fuel. Two primary touchscreens are also positioned along the driver’s natural sight lines. The upper 12.3-inch (312-mm) high-definition touch display provides access to key information such as navigation, hybrid battery charge (hybrid models only), and controls for the available 25-speaker Mark Levinson Surround Sound. The screen also serves as the Multi-Terrain Monitor to display exterior camera views. A smaller 7-inch (178-mm) touchscreen allows passengers to adjust climate control functions, as well as Multi-Terrain Select (MTS), Drive Mode Select (DMS), Downhill Assist Control (DAC)/Crawl Control.

Whether you're exploring off-road or winding your way around the twisting tarmac, LX’s three available powertrains – twin-turbo V6 petrol; twin-turbo V6 diesel; and all-new twin-turbo V6 hybrid – plus traction and posture technologies, help to keep you on your intended path while achieving a refined driving performance.
The new parallel hybrid system provides responsive, smooth power and maintains its full-time four-wheel drive capability, Low-range transfer case, and torque converter-equipped 10-speed transmission.
TACKLE TERRAIN WITH CONFIDENCE
Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) and Crawl Control give the LX superior ground-covering performance across different driving conditions. MTS delivers upgraded off-road grip and lessens wheel slippage through the automatic and integrated control of drive torque, suspension, and brake hydraulics for each of the available six scenes – Auto, Dirt, Sand, Mud, Deep Snow, and Rock. Crawl Control automatically adjusts engine output and hydraulic braking pressure to maintain low speeds and maximize traction on uneven or slippery road surfaces. While driving at low speeds, cameras mounted at the LX’s front, rear, and sides display real-time images on the Multi-Terrain Monitor to assist you when navigating tricky terrain.
NEW OVERTRAIL GRADE
The Lexus Overtrail Project now includes the LX Overtrail edition, taking the flagship and its passengers to new adventuring heights with specialized standard equipment. It looks the part too, having blacked-out and darken exterior features, plus an edition-specific Moon Desert exterior color joins the palette of six available paints. Seats and doors are covered in a low-saturation monolith upholstery complimented by ash burl black ornamentation, creating a sophisticated off-road capable cabin.
The Overtrail edition can wear the LX’s first all-terrain tires (sized 265/70R18), giving the LX elevated off-roading performance and a rugged aesthetic. Exclusive front and rear differential locks join the model’s standard center differential lock to enhance traction capabilities when traversing difficult terrain.
MAKE EVERY JOURNEY SAFER
The LX boasts impressive safety features through Lexus Safety System +, including standard Pre-Collision System, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Road Sign Assist, among several other market-dependent features. In the event of a collision, the LX is built on a high-strength, high-rigidity steel ladder-frame chassis designed to transfer energy more linearly while high-strength sheet steel is used in the reinforcements under the floor. The LX also features a fingerprint authentication push-start switch to deter vehicle theft.

- I am overseas and see the actual 300-series Land Cruiser, all the time. It looks great! Toyota made a mistake, trying to see the Prado as the new Land Cruiser. They should have brought over the 300 and price it under $75k, to start, up to $85k Then have Lexus sell the LX from there. People won't pay $70k+ for a 4-banger Prado
