Latest EU5+ 690cc CP2 engine
The Ténéré 700 World Raid is powered by the latest iteration of Yamaha's legendary CP2 engine, now with even more linear and useable torque and precise control - suited to adventures both on- and offroad. - After many decades of riding . Sometimes riding for 16 plus hours , longest day was over 700 miles. Never realised cruise control wasn't my right hand on the throttle. Bought a Tenere years back as old school and don't want any of the electronic interference that all the other brands seemed at the time to be saturated with. I despair at all the crap we don't need or want. More electronics means less reliability. Stuck in the middle of nowhere because a bit of water or dirt is fouling a signal and it all shuts down.- Hopefully they will just add cruise control to the standard bike in the US will be my next bike for sure if they add cruise control…
- I have one wish that I hoped Yamaha would do, tubeless wheels... Always been a fan of the world raid, but for me it needs tubeless wheels
Unless I am on a big trip I never fully fill the bike, just one side which keeps the weight down. On longer trips the only thing I wished for was quieter wind protection. The seat on the WR is also more comfortable. Cruise control is no use on the twisties or off road so if you’re using cruise control you are probably riding the wrong roads. It looks good though. Always nice to follow evolution
