New CUPRA Tindaya Showcar at IAA

The Cupra Tindaya concept is here. This shooting brake crossover debuts a bold design language, a driver-first cockpit, and early signals about power, range, and timing.

In today’s video we tour the exterior details, step inside the new cockpit with physical controls and a yoke-style wheel, and break down what outlets are reporting on a possible dual-motor setup, quick 0 to 62 miles per hour times, and a potential range-extender system. We also talk about what “No Drivers, No CUPRA” really means for future models and when a production version could arrive.

At IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, CUPRA brings its boldest vision yet, and it’s all for you. The World Premiere of the CUPRA Tindaya Showcar is here, an unfiltered and unconstrained creation built with one purpose in mind: to elevate your emotions to their peak. As interim CUPRA CEO Markus Haupt states,

"Our focus will always be on the emotion of driving. We believe in our Tribe, in the drivers: our cars are designed for them to fully express themselves".

The Tindaya is named after a volcanic mountain on Fuerteventura, and its raw spirit is infused into every detail. Its distinct matt body colour shifts from a deep metallic grey to a soft beige, mirroring the tones of the Atlantic Ocean and the mountain itself. The car’s unconventional inspiration is the human body, with a central structural spine that holds two detachable roof panels and a purposeful roof rack, like a skeleton revealed under the skin.

At its heart lies a radical yet simple idea:
“No Drivers, No CUPRA”.
This is a fully driver-centric architecture conceived to put you at the centre, with a racing-inspired steering wheel giving you total control. Your connection to the car is elevated through advanced phygital interaction - the blending of physical and digital. At its heart sits
"The Jewel,"
a sensory and symbolic glass prism that awakens the vehicle and adjusts driving modes.

The Tindaya allows you to control the very essence of your drive with three selectable modes, placing critical information exactly where you need it:

Immersive Experience: Designed to be a catalyst for emotional driving, this mode enables a deep connection with the vehicle through minimalist graphics and a layout that responds to the rhythm of the car’s core.

Rider Experience: For thrill-seekers, this mode delivers electrifying performance and dynamic digital surfaces that react to vehicle dynamics like G-forces and speed, placing you at the heart of the action.

Tribe Experience: This mode is a showcase for smart connected mobility, with AI-powered recommendations and a curated feed of personalised experiences, allowing you to engage with the CUPRA Tribe in a new way.

This Showcar is a tangible expression of the brand’s conviction that real progress comes through radical disruption, by defying expectations and challenging conventions. The Tindaya is an icon for a new era, true to the CUPRA DNA: muscular, emotional, and with a tech-driven design – where every surface invites your touch, emotion, and driving pleasure

- The perfect looking car. It would be an offence against humanity if this car did not come onto the market exactly like this. If necessary, as a limited car. I would buy the top version right away.

- Please Europe calm down your stupid nerves on 120 km and let this car come as it is... Don't start bending those pointy cosmetical body panels for safety shit.

- If you ask me, it's seriously one of the most beautiful concept cars I've ever seen. Rugged and subtle, with gorgeous colors that truly remind me of a volcano. It's also not overloaded with bells and whistles that are impossible. It all seems very possible to me. Maybe only far in the future, but still. A truly impressive machine.
