Manage ads Block ads by general category

AdMob offers various controls to review and block ads in your apps. These include category, advertiser URL, app install ads, and several other settings. Blocking controls may be applied to a single app or to your entire AdMob account. This article explains how you can prevent ads from specific general categories from showing up in your apps using blocking controls. General category blocking is available for ads in a limited set of languages, regardless of the app language. Ads are classified automatically and don't rely on advertiser-provided categorization. This technology makes its best attempt to filter ads from the categories; however, it's not guaranteed to block every related ad. If you find an undesired ad on your app, you can block that ad by URL. The maximum number of categories you can block is 200. You might find that some general categories overlap with some sensitive categories. The total percentage of ad impressions shown on the "General categories" page might be greater than or less than 100% as ads may be classified in multiple categories, or not classified in any category at all. Complete the following steps to block ads by general category: App-level blocking by general category Sign in to your AdMob account at https://admob.google.com. Click Apps in the sidebar. Click Blocking controls under the name of your app in the sidebar. Click Manage General categories. Use the controls on the page to allow or block categories. Changes are automatically saved on selection. Account-level blocking by general category Sign in to your AdMob account at https://admob.google.com. Click Blocking controls in the sidebar.
